Famlaer 2 – A New Beginning in an Old Land

The second in the Famlaer series is now available on Amazon in Kindle digital or paperback. Here is an excerpt from Famlaer 2 – A New Beginning in an Old Land:

Famlaer 2 - what is happening to the area of Famlaer the original faery land

Just then, she heard a noise behind her, and when she turned, a man was standing there with a dumbfounded look on his face. He was over six feet tall and wider than any human Lupin had ever seen. He was wearing a plaid shirt and grubby old jeans with suspenders and had a crew cut coloured with stripes of orange, purple and green. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Lupin froze for a few seconds but realized she needed to escape. The man was so large that he filled the doorway completely, leaving nowhere for Lupin to exit. He started swatting at her until he connected and whacked her to the floor.

Famlaer 2 – Published

It has taken a little over four years to complete the second book in the Famlaer series, but Famlaer 2 – A New Beginning in an Old Land has been published. You can order it from Amazon in digital (Kindle) or paperback.

Famlaer 2 – A New Beginning in an Old Land

Faeries have been in the world for hundreds of thousands of years. Famlaer is the very first faeryland, located in a remote part of the world. No human had ever been there, until it was discovered by Riohan Hamilton while travelling the world. Finding the first fairy was quite the experience. She was quite hesitant at first, but once she realized Rio wasn’t a threat, they got along fine. A few years after her visit with the faeries she was sitting in her backyard, when a Traefotolp (Garden Faery) with devastating news about Famlaer. Rio, without hesitation, hopped a plane, Pansy with her, to go help Famlaer. Famlaer is in danger of being demolished, but with a little help, they will go on an adventure. First, they must let Rio know they are in trouble and then find a suitable location for their new home. Their journey takes a few twists and turns, meeting up with unknown entities and some not-so-nice creatures. Not all of the Famlaer faeries on this journey are happy about leaving the only home they have ever known and do not want the help of a human. Enorial, the queen, must keep her subjects safe on this long journey with the help of her high-ranking fae, Grungi, Lupin, Rotark and Wonk.
Join Famlaer on their journey to a new world.

Morg the Kitapelet

This is a character from my new book, Famlaer A New Beginning. At least, that is the title for now. I am hoping to have it published by the fall.

This is a Kitapelet, better known as the mind reader/communicator. This is a small exert from the book that describes what a Kitapelet is.

He yelled again, telling us to get out of there. Rio and Stew looked at each other and wondered how it was that they could understand this little creature and how they were able to hear him being that he was so small. The closer he got, the more they realized he wasn’t speaking at all because his mouth wasn’t moving, but they could hear him in their heads.

Rio took a chance and confronted him through her thoughts. How is it we can hear you, and why can I understand you? He finally landed on a branch near where they were all gathered at the edge of the forest.

He spoke in a perfect Scottish accent to Rio and said, through thought, “My name is Morg, and I am a Kitapelet. We can converse with anyone from anywhere. Although I must admit, we don’t get a lot of visitors coming through here, and I have never thought in this language before. Who are you, and why are you here?”

Famlaer – The real faeryland, another sneak-peak.

Famlaer is a book about faeries. It’s mainly introducing the community and how they are created. It is more description than story at this point. My next book will be more story-like but still lots of introduction and descriptions of faeries not mentioned in the first book.

In the meantime, I’d like you to meet Naldoow, the forest keeper. He is one of my favourite drawings. I thought it would be fun to make a faery look like an old hippy rocker. He is just one of many fun and unusual characters in Famlaer – The real faeryland.

This little fellow is the oldest looking of all the faeries. They are always male, they live to be 98 years old, and there are at least five around at all times. They live in the trees, making them the highest flyers of the whole of Faeryland. They fly to the tops of the tallest trees, acting a little like a scout watching for problems. The forest keeper has an overly humungous head but sports a small body, hands and feet. Quite out of proportion. Although he looks old, he’s actually one of the most energetic faeries. They always have a scowl on their face but have a wonderful sense of humour and for the most part, are quite happy. He resembles what we call a hippy from the sixties.

Famlaer paperback is available on Amazon.com for $9.95 US, $13.20 CA as well as UK, DE, FR, ES, IT AND JP. If you would rather read a digital copy it’s available for $4.98 US on all the same as above plus NL, CA, MX, AU AND IN. (the digital version is not available in mobi or epub, but can be read on your phone, tablet or computer using free readers that can be downloaded through Amazon or your mobile market)

Happy reading everyone.
