Famlaer 2 – Another Excerpt

I received the final copy of my new book, Famlaer – A New Beginning in an Old Land.

I have decided to share with you another excerpt of my new book Famlaer – A New Beginning in an Old Land. I hope you like it and buy it at Amazon, either a Kindle (digital) version or a paperback.

Suddenly, something moved out in front of them. It was Ninnian Stewart. The look on his face was total confusion, along with annoyance. He said, “Who are you, and why did you lie to me when you came through the camp? What is that thing flying near your head? “He went to swat at Enorial, but Rio put her arm up and blocked him while Enorial cocked her bow and was ready to fire at him. Stew had a smirk on his face as if to say, what will that do to someone my size?
A tiny arrow like that would just be a little prick, but it is not, and Rio knows from experience. The arrows are dipped in a potion that can throw quite a punch. In fact, they use several different potions depending on the situation. Rio has a feeling she knows which one Enorial has chosen for Stew.

Famlaer 2Suddenly, he started to waver and wobble. His eyes showed horror. Then, his face became extremely red, as if he had been in the sun for too long. He started yelling, “What’s happening to me”? His voice sounded smaller and smaller as he was shrinking. He passed out. There he lay, only eight inches long and looking quite helpless. Rio picked him up carefully and put him in her pack with some of the winged little ones to keep him company when he awakens.

About head birdbrain

Robin is an artist and a retired graphic designer living in Nova Scotia, Canada. Art has always been a major influence in her life, whether through photography, pottery, drawing, or painting. Although she thought about it for many years, she didn’t start writing until later in life. Her main influence regarding faeries was a book illustrated and written by Brian Froud and Alan Lee, although her drawings are of a completely different style. From then on, Robin began imagining her own faery world, which stayed in her imagination for many years until she finally sat down to draw and write it. When Robin began drawing characters and scenes, the full story had not yet shown itself to her. It wasn’t until most of the drawings were done that the story finally revealed itself, and she wrote the first draft of the first book, Famlaer – The Real Faeryland, which reads more like a descriptive work than a story, exploring Famlaer and its inhabitants. It provides a solid foundation for the following books: Famlaer 2 – A New Beginning in an Old Land and Famlaer 3 – A Different World, which are engaging fantasy/adventure stories for all ages.
